Here's what's coming at ya this month in The Way! Wednesday, December the 8th we'll be preparing for our Glenn Addie Saturday which will be happening December 11. We've got some cool little gifts provided by Isaiah 58 to give out,as well as generous donations from the great students of Donahoe, and of course the incredible members of The Way.
On Wednesday, December 15 it's PARTY TIME!!! You know we like to party here at WAIO and Christmas is the greatest time to party, so come dressed in some festive holiday getup (Cousin Eddie -- Christmas Vacation, or Ralphie's pink bunny suit). We'll have some Christmas themed fun and of course plenty of food!
We'll also have our Sunday night Bible study on both Sunday 12 and 19. We'll have no youth services until we resume our Sunday night service on January 2 and Wednesday, January 5. So that means no service the week before Christmas and New Year.
I know that 2011 is going to be a great year for the church! The Holy Spirit will be blasting us with all kinds of great times! And we'll be having even more cool things for the upcoming year. You'll soon get a glimpse at all of the cool trips and getaways we have planned. 2011 will not be short on fun, so keep up with us here on the blog and on facebook, just search for The Way and we'll keep you in the know.
Merry Christmas and Happy 2011
We love you and can't wait to see you!

Here's what we're up to...
Hello there! What a great month we've had at The Way! We had two very successful trips this past month, great services, a wonderful God encounter during our Sunday night leadership training, and we capped it all off with a Halloween Party! It was great seeing so many cool people with their awesome costumes and crazy dance skills. Not to mention the "people flipping machine"...if you were there, you know what I'm talking about, that cat was pretty impressive.
Novemeber is no exception to the fun! Jr. high has a trip to the Trussville Playstation for the 13th, which we know will be a blast. Of course the second Saturday of this month will be when we head over to Glenn Addie. We'll go chill with our friends there, and of course keep on with the serving! And for all of you Alabama and Auburn fans, we'll be having the Iron Bowl Fan Day! This will be a day of flag football, all guy cheerleading routines, and football drills for the ladies. We'll finish the day out with a huge tailgate style dinner to fill your belly. And of course we want to see all your swag, so dress up, paint up, whatever, just bring your team spirit. This will be happening November 20th, which is the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We'll announce the time next week!
Don't forget we meet in the TAMA on Wednesday and Sunday nights at 6 p.m. And for all you skaters, don't forget to have your gaurdian sign a waiver so you can skate whenever the park is open. Which reminds me, we'll be making the park available to skate on Friday nights...keep checking to see our park schedule once it becomes finalized.
Okay humans, that's it....see ya

Here's what's happening this week!
Hello there!
Last week was a great week! A quick look back; we put together Halloween candy bags for the kids in Glenn Addie. And a big thanks to everyone who helped. Thursday night we went out to Glenn Addie and got to pass out flyers for our event on Saturday. Speaking of Saturday, what a blast! We'll have a video ready for you to see all the cool happenings. Also, Friday night was Night of Worship! Talk about great...Brian, Ramey, and Elliot were back and it was incredible! And of course we had our first night of leadership training on Sunday. So that means that Wednesday night will be a youth planned, youth ran service, from beginning to end. We can't wait!
Coming up this week will be youth service at 6:30 on Wednesday night. Get here early to play football, basketball, skateboard, or chill with your Way crew.
We still have tickets available for $25 to get you into Six Flags for those who are in the 9th thru 12th grade. If you want to go, give Josh your money by Wednesday and you're in! We'll leave from the church at 8:15 Saturday morning. For the Jr. high (grades 6th thru 8th), there is still time to get your money to Alex for YouthQuake 2010! This is going to be a great event, with great bands, thousands of youth, and it's only $10! So give Alex your money by Wednesday to get a spot.
You'll want to figure how much money you think you'll need to take for food and swag for your trip. I'd recommend atleast 20 bucks for YouthQuake. As far as Six Flags goes, well God only knows how much you'll need for Six Flags, but come prepared! HAHA
Well that's it for this week, it's gonna be another great one!

This week at The Way...
Hey guys, it's Josh here. I've been behind on the blog so forgive me. (You have to anyhow HAHA) So I wanted to clue you in on what's happening this week at The Way. Tonight (Wed. the 6th), we'll be "bagging" items for our Glenn Addie distribution on Saturday the 9th! This is a great opportunity to be a part in what the HolySpirit is doing in our community. You are the vessel being used to take the HolySpirit to people in whom He desperately desires fellowship. So you're a big deal. That being said, we'll meet here at the church on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. This is also "Second Saturday" so it'll be even easier to get a ride from your family who will be serving around church property. If you're interested, stop by a dollar store and pick up some cool Halloween candy or stickers and we'll give these out to the kids in Glenn Addie.
Also, Saturday October 16th, Sr. high will be taking a trip to Six Flags! Get me your money now and I'll be able to get you $25 tickets. Otherwise, it'll be up to you to buy your tickets at the gate (really expensive) or use your season pass. And for Jr. high, you guys will be going the same day to Youth Quake 2010! This is only $10 for tickets and Alex Martinez and his awesome wife Caroline are heading this up. With both trips you'll need spending money for food and swag, so that'll be up to you how much you decide to take.
Lastley, don't forget that Sunday nights at The Way will be training for you! What training! (hey don't interrupt) Training for you to lead the Wednesday night services at The Way of course! That's right, we want to hear what the HolySpirit is saying to you, we also want your music playlist, your energetic MC skills, and any other exciting gifts and talents you have and want to use. So be there at 6 p.m. and we'll put you to practice/work.
Well that's it for this week! Have a great week and know that we're really super crazy about you!

This week @ The Way!!!
Hey everybody!!!
So this week at The Way (your Way) we've got some cool things planned. This Wednesday night we'll be bagging groceries for our Glenn Addie distribution! The next day (this Thursday that is) we'll meet at WAIO at 5:30 p.m. to go out to Glenn Addie and give flyers to each resident, letting them know when we're coming. Then this Saturday we'll meet at WAIO at 9:00 a.m. and go to Glenn Addie and hand out the grocery bags. We'll be done at lunch.
Also, each night of youth we'll continue to have our skatepark open and are currently making improvements to get it looking even better. So show up early on Wednesday night to skate, play ping pong, football, basketball, or just to hang out with your friends. Don't forget to get a waiver signed if you plan to skate, and yes it does have to be your legal gaurdian's signature (bummer I know).
Have a great week and we'll see you at your Way this Wednesday!

Who we are...
Well, we're The Way. We're a dynamic group of youth representing Jr. and Sr. high ages. Our vision for The Way is in direct relationship with the vision of Word Alive International Outreach as a whole. Our name is inspired by John 14:6, where Jesus is described as "the way, the truth, and the life."
We meet each Wednesday night at 6 pm in the TOMA for a night of fun, that on any occasion envolves good music, chillin' with a coffee from the Connection Cafe, basketball in the gym or skateboarding in our soon to come skatepark. On Sunday evenings at 6 pm we split up into Sr. and Jr. high groups for a time of small group discussion and dicipleship based on what we call "the three loves." Focussing on exploring God's love for us, the importance of loving our neighbors, and how to love ourselves as a wonderful creation.
We'll see ya here!
